by Firefox user 18374959, 10 months agoQuite simply, it lies about what it's doing. Try playing one of its video files without an internet connection and it makes the issue obvious. The only thing this is doing is creating a file that will enable you to stream the video from where it is hosted. If the host moves or deletes the file? Useless. If the host modifies the file? You lose access to the older copy you thought you had.
This level of misrepresentation should be taken as active deception.

posted 6 months agoHi! This is valid technical feedback and we appreciate the detailed explanation. Version 24.1 improves how files are saved so they work properly offline. Please try with 24.1 — play the downloaded file without internet and see if it works. We'd genuinely like to address this concern. 🙏

It's intuitive enough to need no more than a simple explanation - which they provide initially; and you can save as a bookmark (I could). AND it doesn't take very much space - while providing the full quality! ...Based on which quality you choose. Since mp4 at 1 of the available qualities AND choosing 1 of 2 download speeds (for mp3) worked: I assume all the formats you can choose from, also work.
And finally: This add-on is not intrusive with ads.
