What's happening: The new "data collection" categories you're seeing aren't Keepa suddenly requesting more access — they're part of a new disclosure format Mozilla now requires from all Firefox extensions (rolled out since late 2025). Developers must now explicitly declare data categories that, in many cases, the extension was already handling — this is just making it visible.
Why these categories match Keepa's actual function:
* Browsing activity — Keepa needs to detect when you're on an Amazon product page to show price history.
* Website content — it reads the page (product name, ASIN) to build its price charts.
* Personal data — likely covers optional contact info (e.g., email) if you set up price alerts.

Mozilla verlangt jetzt von jedem Add-on, Datenkategorien aus einer vorgegebenen Liste anzugeben, und Firefox zeigt diese bei einem Update an.
Was Keepa macht: Auf einer Amazon-Produktseite sendet es die ASIN dieses Produkts an keepa.com, um den Preisverlaufsgraphen zu laden. Diese Angabe wird weder protokolliert noch gespeichert. Es wird nichts gespeichert, es sei denn, Sie entscheiden sich dafür, ein Produkt zu verfolgen. Zeile für „personenbezogene Daten“ bezieht sich auf Ihren Keepa-Sitzungs-Token – ein Anmeldedatum für Ihr eigenes Konto, nicht auf Ihren Namen oder Ihre E-Mail-Adresse. There would be far more users if you made it affordable for everyone. But you decide to track more user information and cut way down the free version. No thanks. Look elsewhere, there are some really good competitors. And to think I have to now warn all the people I told to install it.
