Privacy Policy for WhatSave

WhatSave does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any data.
What the extension does

WhatSave runs only on web.whatsapp.com, inside your own already logged in WhatsApp Web session. When you choose a chat and click download, it reads message and media data that WhatsApp Web itself already loaded into your browser for that chat, and saves the media files to your own computer using the browser's built in downloads feature.
What the extension does not do

It does not send any data to any server, developer, or third party.
It does not use analytics, telemetry, or tracking of any kind.
It does not read or touch any website other than web.whatsapp.com.
It does not store your messages or media anywhere except the files it saves directly to your own Downloads folder.


Permissions

downloads: used to save the files you choose to download.
activeTab and scripting: used to run the extension's logic on the WhatsApp Web tab you have open.
Host permission for web.whatsapp.com: the extension only ever runs on this site.
