PORCHIA PRIVACY POLICY Short version:

Porchia does not track you, does not build a profile, does not sell or share your data, and has no analytics. It sends data off your device in exactly one situation, described below, and that data deletes itself after 24 hours.

WHAT NEVER LEAVES YOUR DEVICE

Your browsing history. Your settings. The list of sites you visit. The phishing list Porchia checks against is downloaded to your device in full and matched locally, so checking a site against it does not tell anyone which site you are on.

WHAT LEAVES YOUR DEVICE, AND WHEN
1. Domain age check. For a site you have not visited before, Porchia looks up how old the domain is using the public RDAP registry at rdap.org. Only the domain name is sent. No URL, no page content, no identifier.

  1. Google Safe Browsing. Off by default. It only runs if you personally enter a Google API key in settings. If you do, the page address is sent to Google under Google's own privacy terms.
  2. A paused purchase. This is the only time personal information is sent. When Porchia pauses a checkout so your trusted contact can review it, it sends to the Porchia approval server:
  3. the purchase amount
  4. the website address of the checkout page
  5. a screenshot of the visible page, so your contact can see what you are buying
  6. the name and phone number you entered for your trusted contact
  7. the reasons Porchia paused it

The screenshot may show information that is on your screen, which can include your name,
an address, or part of an order. This is deliberate: your contact cannot approve a purchase they cannot see. It is sent only for purchases Porchia actually pauses, never for ordinary browsing.

HOW LONG IT IS KEPT

Every approval record, screenshot included, is stored with a 24-hour expiry and is automatically and permanently deleted after that. There is no archive and no backup of it.

WHO ELSE SEES IT

Nobody. It is not sold, not shared, not used for advertising, and not used to train anything. There view link is unguessable and expires with the record.

TURNING IT OFF

Set the pause mode to only over a dollar amount and set the amount high, or remove the trusted contact, and no purchase data is ever sent. Uninstalling Porchia removes all local settings.
