This extension does not collect, sell, share, or transmit any personal data
to its developer. There is no account system, no analytics, and no
advertising or tracking code of any kind. This policy explains exactly what
data the extension handles and the one narrow case where anything leaves
your browser.


The extension works with a single piece of data: a reference location
(a latitude/longitude coordinate) that you set so the extension can sort and
label Google Maps search results by distance from that point.

You can set this reference location four ways:

• My location — your browser's built-in geolocation API.
• Map center — wherever the Google Maps view is currently centered.
• Coordinates — latitude/longitude you type in directly.
• Address — a street address you type in.

Whichever method you use, the resulting coordinate is saved only in your
browser's local extension storage, on your own device. It is never sent to
the extension's developer, never uploaded to any server the developer
controls, and is only used locally to calculate and display distances on
the page. It stays saved so you don't have to set it again next time, and
you can change or clear it at any time.


Three of the four methods above are fully local and never contact any
server. The exception is the Address method: when you type a street
address and click Find, that typed text — and only that text — is sent
to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim geocoding service,
a free, independent, third-party API, solely to convert the address into
coordinates. This request happens only when you click Find; it is never
sent automatically or in the background.

As with any request to any website, your IP address is visible to Nominatim
as a normal part of how the request reaches their server — the extension
itself doesn't add, collect, or store this. That request is handled under
the OpenStreetMap Foundation's own privacy practices, not the developer's,
since the developer never receives, sees, or stores it. No other
information about you or your browsing is included in this request.

• No browsing history, no page content, no analytics.
• No personally identifying information (name, email, account, etc.) is
  collected — the extension has no account system to begin with.
• No data is sold or shared with third parties for advertising or any
  other purpose.

If a future version of the extension changes what data it uses or where it
sends it, this document will be updated to match, alongside the version
that introduces the change.
